On July 9th, 2022, the American Legion Riders featured the Veterans Memorial Park as part of their Legacy Run, an annual bike ride raising money for veterans. Over three dozen riders met at the park to honor our veterans, and after an hour of touring our artifacts and monuments and meeting our commissioners, were escorted to Whiteside County by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department and Dixon Police Department on their way to Rock Falls.
