In 2019, the Veterans Memorial Park Commission purchased 1217 Palmyra Street (adjacent to the existing park) with the intention of building a museum to curate and display the many personal military artifacts that have been donated to us over the years since our founding. Since then, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit has been established to manage our forthcoming museum, which we hope to house in our museum building and later expand to a larger complex at the park. This museum, like the park, will continue to be free to the public and funded through donations once opened.
As we continue to progress in the construction and development of the museum, we greatly appreciate any artifact donations, especially well-researched ones! Our goal is to create a historically accurate, well-curated, accredited museum displaying noteworthy pieces of history from veterans both local and nationwide that provides education and insight into their experiences.
