This 6,000 lbs. anchor is a Mark 2 Lightweight Mark 2 Anchor still used by the U.S. Navy. Such anchors were used by small yard and patrol crafts and Landing Ship Tanks (LSTs) as a stern anchor, used especially by LSTs to winch back into deeper water.
